St. Thomas Senior High/Tech
St. Thomas Senior High Technical School, situated in Asamankese in the Eastern Region was originally known as Asamankese Catholic Secondary Technical School. It was established in 1991 at the premises of the defunct Catholic Experimental Junior Secondary School. The school was opened on 28th January, 1991, headed by Mr. Joseph Peter Otoo (M. Ed. France) who transferred from Nkawkaw Secondary School.
To give it the unique Catholic identity the name of the school was changed to St. Thomas Secondary Technical School after the Patron Saint of students, St. Thomas Aquinas, whose feast day falls on 28th January, the fateful day the school was born. On 13th September, 1993, the School moved to her permanent site 4km, from the centre of the town, off the Asamankese – Accra road.
