Agate SHS was founded in 1983. The school runs both day and boarding systems with a student population of about 500. It offers programmes such as Business, Agriculture, Home Economics and general Arts. The school had 100% pass in the WASSCE in 2011 and 2012. Their are competent and hardworking teachers for all subjects. The school however need assistance in infrastructure such as boarding house for boys and girls, assembly hall, library, administration block and staff bungalows.
