Pentecost Vocational Training Institute
The school was officially opened on 28th April 1998 and has been called the Pentecost Vocational Training Institute. The school started with fifteen students and enrollment now is 250. In the year 1995, the women’s Wing of the Church of Pentecost saw the need to establish a Vocational Training Institute not only to take care of the educational needs of girls but also to reduce the percentage of unemployment among women in the community and the country in general.
This vision has since been adopted and supported by the mother church, seeing that the problem meant to be dealt with by this project is the peculiarity of the community; the school has been strategically situated at Gbawe near Mallam.
Vision
Vision Statement of Pentecost Vocational Training Institute is “to be the first female Polytechnic in the country turning out young competent female entrepreneurs with good Christian morals”.
Mission
The Institute exists “to train young girls to acquire skills to make them self sustainable and to inculcate in them the fear of God and contributing to the reduction of unemployment and streetism in Ghana”.
Objectives
The objectives of the school is:
- To inculcate in the girls, moral values and the fear of God.
- To absorb as many street girls a possible and thereby reduce the incidence of teenage pregnancy and other social vices.
- To reduce unemployment among women by teaching them skills that will make them self employed.

The school has Eight (8) Board Members and fifteen staff in the various departments. Since the inception of the school, about Two Thousand (2,000) students graduated. Also, Eight Hundred (800) Adult women have been trained in small scale business.
Achievements
The examination results were very good and also the school has won awards which attest the fact that the school is on the right track and the vision and mission of the school is in fulfillment.
Notable among the awards are Ghana @ 50 Cooking Contest Award, Blue Band Cooking Contest Award and First USA Rice Competition for Polytechnics in Ghana.
Currently the school is undertaking a magnificent Hostel building Project to accommodate more students.
