The school was founded by the late Joseph Essel in 1959 as a speed writing Secretariat. It was taken over by the Government in 1967 and moved to its present site in 1975 as Swedru School of Business.

Vision

To prepare its products to develop their talents to help them become self-reliant making Ghana self reliant nation.
